This is one of the best culinary experiences I've had. The place is gorgeous, the staff is extremely attentive without being too much. The meal is an entire experience. Each plate is like a piece of art and they space out each course perfectly. We spent two hours there and didn't even notice. Everything is unique and delicious, from the cocktails and appetizers, all the way to the desserts. 100% recommended. It'll be my place every time I visit Asheville.

The Market Place is a nice restaurant with lovely ambiance. The bar is also pretty and looks like a nice collection of wine, beer and liquor. We were lucky to be seated at a booth which was set away from the main dining room so was more quiet. Our service was weirdly off-standish. Not sure what we did to earn the mild contempt from R but it was consistent throughout the meal. The food was very good to good depending on the dish with the ham wrapped peaches, heirloom tomato salad with burrata and the ice cream sandwich dessert being our favorites. A solid restaurant but not breathtaking like other restaurants we've been to.

Best Trout in Asheville! Caught your attention? Continue to read... First off, this place is on a very cute, cobblestone street...so if you're trying to impress your girl, bring her here for some photo ops 😅 We had reservations and were seated immediately and our waitress attended to us quickly. I'm horrible with names, so I apologize, but if the managers or owners read this, we dined on June 3rd and sat against the back wall. I must give props to the gentleman that took our drink orders as well! I've been on a gin-kick and they had one on the menu but it had some elements I didn't care for. He spoke to the bar personnel and were able to hook me up with a custom gin-based cocktail and it was phenomenal. My wife does NOT drink gin and she tried it and didn't want to give it back 😅 The Food: RUN, don't walk, and order the trout expeditiously. Let me tell y'all something: I do NOT typically eat fish outside of high-quality sushi, just not my thing. BUT, the trout dish here is out of this world delicious. It was NOT fishy at all...not even a little (I do not play games when it comes to "fishy" dishes - big no-no for me). It was sweet, delicate, extremely refined and light and just

We celebrated a birthday dinner at The Market Place in downtown Asheville and it was a great choice. The staff were attentive and welcoming. Our waitress was upbeat and had a great sense of humor, and made the night more fun, though I did not catch her name. They also surprised us with complimentary champagne, which we really appreciated. We ordered the seared scallops, pork belly, seared pork shank, and steak tartare. The scallops were our favorite, and I appreciated the portion size. Everything was well prepared and full of flavor. After dinner, we walked to Kilwins for chocolate and fudge for dessert, which we also loved.

We stopped in for dinner after a long day of driving through the mountains. Two of us had cocktails, split the trout entree, the farro risotto and chocolate creme brulee. Food and service were extraordinary. When was the last time a hostess delivered food to the table (outstanding!)? Considering the quality of the food, a great value. We would return in a heartbeat.
